Drawing on his proven ability as a creative problem-solver, John’s current practice focuses on the development and management of strategic approaches in complex issue environments and governmental agency coordination and relations. Management of complex, multi-party projects has become a mainstay of John’s practice. In his work with counties, cities, and port districts, John has been called on to assist in developing strategic approaches to critical community issues and to facilitate problem solving sessions. John helps neighborhoods and governmental agencies to balance a community’s needs and project objectives. For instance, John developed the “Alternatives Futures” process in response to a need for a new, innovative, and creative approach to identifying the needs of a local community.
